Gorkha Battalion Leads World Environment Day Celebrations with Community-Focused Green Initiatives

Bengaluru, June 7. In a spirited observance of World Environment Day 2025, the Gorkha Battalion of the Amphibious Brigade under the aegis of Bison Division led a series of impactful environmental initiatives in collaboration with families and local community members. The activities reflected a strong commitment to ecological preservation and collective responsibility under this year’s global theme: “Our Land. Our Future. We are #GenerationRestoration.”

Highlights of the Day:

Cleanliness Drive by Families:

Officers, soldiers, and their families came together for a cleanliness drive aimed at promoting hygiene, waste management, and respect for natural surroundings. Community areas were cleaned, awareness on waste segregation was shared, and participants pledged to maintain a cleaner, greener environment.

Walkathon for Families and Kids:

A vibrant walkathon saw participation from all age groups, as families and children joined hands to promote the message of environmental conservation. With eco-themed placards, slogans, and unity of purpose, the walk underscored the importance of sustainable living and individual responsibility.

Awareness Class on World Environment Day:

An educational session was conducted to enlighten participants—especially children—on the significance of the day. The class emphasized topics such as climate change, pollution, biodiversity, and the importance of environmental stewardship. Interactive discussions encouraged young minds to think critically about solutions and actions for a sustainable future.

The Gorkha Battalion’s leadership in organizing these activities exemplified their dedication not just to national security, but also to community development and environmental protection. The initiative reinforced the message that environmental responsibility is a shared duty that transcends all boundaries.

Together, let us restore our Earth and safeguard the future — one action at a time.
